Thieves Target Home Sellers for Prescription Meds

The title says it all! Surprising? Yes and no. I have heard horror stories from other Realtors and sellers that have had their personal belongings stolen. I am always wary when there’s a group of people wanting to preview a home because it is difficult to keep them from wondering around, but even a husband and wife team can go off in separate directions, and it only takes a second for them to grab something they see. This really hit home when my mothers diamond earrings were stolen from her vanity when an agent was showing our house up in New York.

This has never happened to me personally as an agent, but I always double and triple check that there is nothing in view before a home is exposed to buyers, because Realtors can only try their hardest to control a showing, what can happen sometimes is inevitable.

I just read an article that prescription drug thieves are targeting open houses. So, now more than ever, sellers make sure that not only your valuables are locked up and out of sight, but so are your medications! It is very common for buyers to generally open medicine of kitchen cabinets while browsing homes, so make sure that homeowners removes medicines or hide them in a container that cannot be opened without making a noise. Other general good hiding spots are under the bed or in the back of a bottom cabinet.

So the moral of the story, take your diamonds and medications and lock them up!

Monday night football was the best! Miami Dolphins against the New England Patriots was a blast, even though it was a huge upset for the home team. We watched the game from a newly built, exclusive lounge space on the club level of Sun Life Stadium.
Rapper Rick Ross and his crew took in the Dolphins and Carolina Panthers from one of the cabanas inside the space and even met Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino at halftime. Two weeks later, R&B sensation Cee-Lo Green watched the Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys from the outdoor couches overlooking the endzone. Green was joined by a gaggle of ladies and a small entourage, as fans in the stands took photos of the singer/producer with their cell phones.
Fergie of the Black Eye Peas hosted and sang the national anthem. She completely brought down the house, an amazing voice! All in all, I must say this was a unique and completely amazing experience, not one of the ways I’ve ever grew up watching football. An experience I will never forget!
